How do ink-up tattoos work?

The natural active ingredient from the jagua fruit penetrates the uppermost layer of skin and reacts with it there. Over the next 1–2 days, a dark, realistic tattoo-like appearance develops, which remains visible for about two weeks.

How long does an ink-up tattoo last?

An ink-up tattoo typically lasts 8–13 days – depending on skin type, aftercare, and body location. After that, it fades evenly as the skin regenerates.

Why do ink-up tattoos look so realistic?

Because the natural active ingredient from the jagua fruit penetrates the uppermost layer of skin and reacts there. This creates a genuine tattoo look – without shine, without foil, completely natural.

Are ink-up tattoos henna?

No. Ink Up Tattoos are based on the active ingredient of the jagua fruit, not henna. The principle is similar, but the color is darker and looks more natural – almost like a real tattoo.

Are ink-up tattoos waterproof?

Yes. Ink Up Tattoos are waterproof and can easily withstand showers, sweat and even baths – as long as you avoid friction and vigorous rubbing in the first few hours after application.

What color will my ink-up tattoo be?

The color develops from light blue to dark blue or almost black within the first 24–48 hours. The exact shade depends on your skin type and the application time.

How safe are ink-up tattoos?

Ink Up Tattoos are dermatologically tested and received a "very good" rating from Dermatest in Germany. They consist of natural ingredients and are skin-friendly and safe to use.

Do ink-up tattoos expire?

Yes, ink-up tattoos have an expiration date. However, if stored correctly – in a cool, dry place and protected from light – they remain usable for several years without losing quality.

What's inside?

Our tattoos contain skin-friendly, dermatologically tested ingredients:

Acrylates Copolymer, Cellulose Acetate Butyrate, Dipropylene Glycol Dibenzonate, Genipa americana fruit extract, Glycine Soja Oil, Paraffinum Liquidum, Polyvinyl Butyral, Rosin Acrylate, Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate, CI 42090.

Safety instructions

Our ink-up tattoos are skin-friendly, but in rare cases can trigger allergic reactions. Not suitable for babies or toddlers.

Avoid contact with eyes – rinse thoroughly immediately if contact occurs. Do not use on eyelashes or eyebrows. Wear gloves during application.

If you are unsure or have skin problems, consult a doctor beforehand. Keep out of reach of children, do not inhale or swallow.

If itching, burning or redness occurs, rinse immediately, stop use and seek medical advice.

Can I get the tattoo during pregnancy?

We recommend avoiding use during pregnancy or seeking medical advice beforehand, as the skin may be more sensitive during this time.

Before applying

Here's how to optimally prepare your skin.

Do I need to prepare anything before applying an ink-up tattoo?

Yes, good preparation ensures the best result:

Skin care: Gently exfoliate and moisturize 24 hours beforehand to ensure smooth and receptive skin.

Shaving: The area should be hair-free – ideally shave the day before.

Clean skin: No oil or cream directly before application.

Correct location: Choose areas with little movement or friction.

🚫 Avoid: scars, birthmarks, sensitive or heavily haired areas.

🚫 After application: Do not scratch, rub or expose to water.

Should I shave before applying ink-up tattoos?

Yes. Ideally, shave the desired area 24 hours before application so that the skin is smooth but not irritated. This will help the tattoo adhere better and develop more evenly.

What are the best places to apply an ink-up tattoo?

The best spots are areas with little friction and water contact – so upper arm, forearm, shoulder, back or calf.

Hands, fingers, ankles and areas with a lot of movement are less suitable, as the tattoo will fade faster there.

Do ink-up tattoos work on all skin tones?

Yes. Ink-up tattoos work on all skin tones. The color develops individually – usually darker on lighter skin, somewhat more subtle on darker skin, but always visible and natural.

After application

Here's what you should consider after applying it.

Why is my Ink Up tattoo blue?

That's perfectly normal! After application, the tattoo initially appears blue because the active ingredient from the jagua fruit only develops in the skin. Within 24–48 hours, it darkens and takes on its typical black tattoo appearance.

Can I go to the sauna with an ink-up tattoo?

It's best not to. For the first 24 hours, the tattoo should not be exposed to high temperatures or humidity. After that, a sauna is possible, but it can slightly accelerate fading.

Can I tan/sunbathe with an ink-up tattoo?

You should avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds for the first 24 hours. After that, sunbathing is possible – but remember sunscreen, as UV radiation will cause the tattoo to fade faster.

Why did my Ink Up tattoo disappear after washing?

The tattoo was probably exposed to water too soon. It shouldn't be washed for the first 8 hours, as the active ingredient needs time to be absorbed into the skin. After that, the color will develop from light to dark blue within 24–36 hours.

Can I reuse my Ink Up tattoo?

No. Each Ink Up Tattoo is intended for single use only, as the active ingredient is completely transferred after the first use.

How can I remove my Ink Up tattoo?

The simplest method is gentle exfoliation. Use a body scrub or a washcloth to gently massage the skin. This will help the tattoo fade faster – but don't rub too hard to avoid irritating the skin.

What if an unwanted skin reaction occurs?


Stop using the product immediately and wash the affected area thoroughly with water. If redness, itching, or burning persists, consult a doctor and do not use the product again.

My tracking isn't working. What can I do?

Sometimes it takes up to 24 hours for shipment tracking to be activated. If it's still not working after that, just write to us – we'll check the status of your order.

My package hasn't arrived. What can I do?

If your package hasn't arrived after a few days, first check the tracking information. If there's no update or the status is unclear, contact us – we'll take care of it immediately.

Where do you deliver to and what are your prices?

Your order will be delivered directly to your doorstep.

How can I change my delivery address?

If your order has not yet been shipped, we can easily change the delivery address.

Please send us an email to kontakt@ink-up.de with the following information:

✅ Your order number

✅ The currently saved address

✅ The new, correct delivery address

However, if your order has already left our warehouse, we unfortunately cannot make any changes or cancel the order.

You could try contacting the courier service to find out if it's possible to redirect the package. If that doesn't work, your package might be returned.

How do I find a specific design?

Simply use the search bar at the top of the page and enter a keyword – for example, "heart", "text", or "flower". This way you can quickly find your desired design.

How do I remove an item from my shopping cart?

To remove an item from your shopping cart, simply click on the shopping cart icon in the upper right corner of the page. There you can reduce the quantity of a tattoo by clicking on the minus sign (-) or remove the item completely by clicking on the "X".

How can I pay?

Problems with the order

Support for problems with your order.

Is it possible to cancel my order?

Yes, that's possible! If you would like to cancel your order, please contact us within 14 days of receipt at kontakt@ink-up.de .

As long as your package has not yet been shipped, we can easily cancel the order and refund you the full amount.

Yes, that's possible! If your order hasn't been shipped yet, we can make adjustments.
